At Frost-trol we are firmly committed to the use of environmentally friendly natural refrigerants in all our cabinets, both in the Supermarket range, with our CO2-based solutions, and in our Plug-in line, in which we incorporate propane as a refrigerant.

With excellent thermodynamic characteristics, both solutions have good energy yields and also allow our customers to easily adapt to the different regulations in force in this area, such as the European F-Gas directive, contributing to achieve the goal of progressive reduction in the use of refrigerants with a high rate of global warming.

The planet is in danger and in our hands we have the opportunity to reinforce our commitment to the preservation of the earth as we know it in order to create a better world for the next generations.

At Frost-trol we are well aware of this, and that is why we contribute for the use of CO2 in our remote cabinets, offering to the market a wide range of products since 2011 that cover the needs of the market, meeting the objectives established in the different regulations and allowing our customers to advance in this change that is presented as a common challenge for all mankind, thus slowing down the destruction of the ozone layer and global warming.

Vapor compression refrigeration systems using CO2 are widely accepted due to its low GWP, low cost, high energy saving potential, and the fact that it is a non-toxic fluid, so it is considered safe for the environment.

• It is an environmentally neutral fluid, with an ODP=0 and GWP=1.
• It is the refrigerant with the best heat exchange properties.
• It improves energy efficiency.
• It exists in the environment and is affordable. CO2 production costs are approximately 90% less, compared to other refrigerants.
• It is non-flammable, non-corrosive and non-toxic.
• It has low viscosity and high density.

With the introduction of the F-Gas regulation in 2015 and following our philosophy of selling products with highly efficient technology, we have adapted the design of all units with built-in group to the use of R290 as refrigerant; in addition to using as standard in low temperature the inverter compression technology, in order to enhance the reduction of energy consumption.

• Energy efficiency. It can reduce energy consumption by 25-30% compared to R404A.
• Comfort. The compressors used are quieter and transfer less heat to the store.
• Excellent thermodynamic properties. Propane is a natural refrigerant on the rise in your stand-alone cabinets thanks to its excellent thermodynamic properties and significantly higher energy efficiency than R404A.
• Sustainable option. R290 has zero ozone depletion (ODP=0) and very low global warming potential (GWP=3), both key requirements for reducing pollutant emissions.
• Exempt from tax. This natural refrigerant is exempt from taxes and duties, given its highly sustainable nature.
